Make tongue cleaning a part of your daily routine!
At night, toxins accumulate on the surface of the tongue due to inadequate oral hygiene, smoking, dehydration, coffee, alcohol, and the consumption of spicy and sugary foods. If this coating is not removed, it is swallowed during the day, reaching deeper areas of the digestive tract and further toxifying our body.
Using a tongue scraper is simple: draw it across the surface of your tongue, from back to front. The pressure applied should be firm, but the tongue should not hurt or bleed. Repeat several times, then rinse off the coating with warm water. Brush your teeth afterwards!
Tongue scraping is recommended in the morning, on an empty stomach. If there is significant plaque buildup, repeat it in the evening before bedtime.
According to Ayurveda, the use of a tongue scraper offers numerous benefits:
- It significantly reduces bad breath, as it cleanses the mouth of bacteria.
- The removal of bacteria is crucial in preventing tooth decay, gum diseases, and other oral conditions, and also ensures they do not reach the deeper areas of the digestive system.
- Daily tongue scraping can help remove the white coating from the tongue and prevent its return.
- It improves the performance of taste buds, resulting in a more intense taste sensation.
We do not recommend using the back of a plastic toothbrush, as it not only fails to remove toxins accumulated on the tongue but pushes them further towards the back.
According to Ayurveda, regular detoxification of the body is important for our health.
