Abhyanga is one of the most important ayurvedic treatments, transcending a regular massage to become a profound ritual that brings harmony to body, mind, and spirit. It is highly recommended for maintaining overall health and improving long-term well-being.
The massage is performed with abundant, warm herbal oil, following a specific sequence and rhythm. This treatment is not merely a general relaxation massage: within the Ayurvedic philosophy, it simultaneously involves oiling the body, nourishing the tissues, calming the nervous system, and supporting internal balance.
Duration & Prices:
60 minutes – 14.000 HUF
90 minutes – 20.000 HUF
120 minutes – 28.000 HUF
The treatment can be complemented with svedana (Indian herbal steam sauna), which further enhances detoxification. The sauna lasts 15 minutes and is included in the total duration and price of the massage.

Thank you for our guests’ trust!
At Surya Ayurveda, every treatment focuses on personal attention, professional expertise, and
authentic Ayurvedic approach.
In Abhyanga, it’s not just about using oil. The treatment’s value comes from the Ayurvedic system: the quality of the oil, the approach tailored to the body’s condition, the sequence of movements, their direction, rhythm, and post-treatment rest all work together to create the effect.
The goal is not vigorous muscle work, but rather to calm the body, nourish the tissues, release tension, and soothe the nervous system.
Therefore, Abhyanga is especially valuable for those who are not just seeking a simple wellness experience, but desire an authentic Ayurvedic treatment.
In Ayurveda, Abhyanga is considered an essential part of the daily wellness routine, known as dinacharya. The healing power of herbal oils and massage reflects the very foundation of Ayurveda: the unity of body, mind, and spirit.
The word Abhyanga comes from the Sanskrit roots abhi (toward) and anga (body part), literally meaning “to anoint or rub into the limbs.”
During the treatment, warm herbal oil is gently massaged into the entire body through seven traditional positions. Starting from the head, the therapist works systematically down to the feet, giving special attention to the soles.
The goal of the massage is to allow the oils to deeply penetrate and nourish the tissues while opening the srotas—the body’s energy and nutrient channels. This process is essential for dissolving and eliminating ama, or toxins, from the body.
Abhyanga is particularly recommended if:
1. Brief Consultation
Before the treatment, we discuss your current condition and what you wish to focus on.
2. Application of Warm Oil
The massage is performed with generous amounts of warm herbal oil.
3. Full Body Massage
The treatment follows a traditional sequence across the body, touching the head, torso, arms, legs, and feet.
4. Rest or Svedana
After the treatment, it is advisable to allow time for rest. Svedana, or Indian sauna, can also be requested as an addition.
5. After-effects
Many people experience deep tranquility, a lighter body sensation, and a slowing down after the treatment.
Abhyanga can also be requested with Svedana, an Indian sauna treatment. The warm steam applied after the treatment aids relaxation, enhances the sensation of the warm oil treatment, and, according to Ayurvedic principles, supports the body’s natural purification processes.
Svedana can be a particularly beneficial addition if you desire a deeper warming, relaxing, and regenerating experience.
